Retail Manager
As the Retail Manager at Local Roots Farm Market in Squamish, BC, you'll lead the front-of-house staff, manage care and maintenance of front-of-house nursery operations, manage associates, and drive sales.
Key Responsibilities:
Oversee daily operations during scheduled shifts, including opening and closing procedures
Manage associates; create and adjust work schedules, manage daily retail operations
Provide exemplary customer service
Design attractive plant displays to enhance customer experience and drive sales
Provide advice to customers on plant selection, care, and maintenance
Participate in nursery events and promotions, as needed
Qualifications:
Minimum 3 years experience in retail management or similar role
Strong communication and leadership skills
Proficiency in inventory management and POS systems
Ability to perform physical tasks, including lifting plants and standing for extended periods
Willingness to learn and follow instructions with an ability to work collaboratively within a management team.
Work Schedule:
Five days per week with commitment to work 2 weekends every month
Seasonal position, March to November
Compensation:
The wage for this position is commensurate with experience, skills, education and training

Retail Associate
Nursery Associates at Local Roots Farm Market support the Retail Nursery Manager in the daily operations of the plant nursery. This role is perfect for someone passionate about plants and customer service and is eager to learn in a dynamic retail environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist with sales transactions and use of the point-of-sale system
Provide excellent customer service by answering questions and offering gardening advice
Assist with the care and maintenance of nursery stock
Maintain attractive plant displays
Support inventory management by organizing and restocking plants and supplies
Participate in nursery events and promotions, as needed
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent; some coursework in horticulture or related fields is a plus
Enthusiasm for plants and gardening; prior experience in a nursery or garden center is beneficial but not required
Strong communication skills and a friendly demeanor
Ability to perform physical tasks, including lifting plants and standing for extended periods
Willingness to learn and follow instructions from Management
Work Schedule:
A minimum of 16 hours per week is required, with a minimum commitment to work two weekend days every month
